The drive
Deadwood to Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) is about 52 miles and runs close to an hour, mostly down US-385 and US-14A through the northern Black Hills before the run into Rapid City. Winter weather and Sturgis Rally traffic both stretch that time, which is the whole reason to book ahead instead of calling when you are already late.
Built for Black Hills winters
Our cars are AWD and 4WD, kept ready for snow and ice, and our drivers know these grades in bad weather and drive them safely. When a storm is coming, a booked ride beats hoping a rideshare makes the drive.
Book ahead, ride easy
Most airport trips work best as a reservation. Give us your flight time and pickup spot when you call, and your driver builds in the cushion for traffic, weather, and the walk through a small terminal. For early departures we will confirm the night before. Same-day rides depend on who is on the road, so a morning flight is safer booked the day before.
Flat rate, no meter games
Deadwood to RAP is a set price, quoted when you book. You know the number before the car shows up. You pay in cash at the end of the ride. We take cash only, so please come prepared.
Where we pick up in Deadwood
We run to every hotel, casino, and vacation home in town. Common pickups include the Deadwood Mountain Grand, The Lodge at Deadwood, Cadillac Jack's, the Silverado-Franklin, Tin Lizzie, Mineral Palace, and the Hampton and Tru on the edge of town. Staying in a cabin up at Terry Peak, Gilded Mountain, or Boulder Canyon? We serve those too.
Flying in for an event?
Deadwood fills up fast around its big weekends, and a pre-booked ride from the airport beats waiting on a rideshare that may or may not make the drive out. The ones that pack the calendar:
- Wild Bill Days (June): live music and street events downtown
- Days of '76 Rodeo (July): a PRCA rodeo and parade, on the National Register
- Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (August): Deadwood runs hot the whole week
- Kool Deadwood Nites (late August): classic cars and sock hops down Main Street
- Deadweird (Halloween): the downtown costume weekend
Rapid City Regional Airport, quickly
RAP sits about 9 miles southeast of Rapid City and is open around the clock. Allegiant, American, Delta, United, and Sun Country fly there. It is a small terminal, so leave room on a Rally morning to check a bag and clear security. Airport information line: (605) 393-9924.
